Calculating Zernike Coefficients
A smooth model of the 2D wavefront error is formed by weighting and summing Zernike functions.
The coefficients in this model are found from a least-squares fit (LSF) to the fringe point data.
The Zernike functions are orthogonal over the unit circle making the LSF very robust.
Not everyone defines the Zernike functions in the same manner. FringeXP uses the definitions given by James Wyant:
