Hello,
I can have for sale a nearly new, 21.5" f/4.6 aluminized primary mirror with
a very nice figure. The substrate is slightly oval, and the rear diameter is
slightly more than the front diameter. For this reason it might not hang
well in the traditional sling support, so a suitable lateral support will be
necessary. The mirror was figured by Steve Kennedy. It is one of the first
large paraboloids he figured, and it turned out very well. It is currently
masked down to 21.5" in order to provide a round aperture. For those who can
come to Los Angeles, I can mount the mirror in my own 22" telescope so that
you can test it. Since I have observed through this mirror I can attest to
its high quality.
I will accept $2900 cash, or mostly cash and some eyepieces.
Please make an offer if you want a sharp mirror.
Also, a friend of mine is selling a 16" f/6 made by Tom Waineo. This is
supposedly an extremely sharp mirror, and it comes with documentation.
Only $1600 or best reasonable offer.
